7 series v8 and premium fuel?

I read somewhere that the 7 series must me run on premium or high octane only. Is there any truth to this? Thanks

I would believe so.....I drive an Audi A4 1.8T and it requires premium, I wouldn't expect any less for a 7-series

Depends on if your car has the pinging or knocking. The computer will adjust the timing if it is having problems, reducing your power. I use both with possibly no pinging with the premium. There is just the smallest amount of noise with the lower grade of gas.

Every time you hear a ping you are doing damage to your engine. With the loss of power from the EUC compensating you are getting worse gas mileage! Why not just use the premium therefore not damaging your engine and getting the best possible mileage?

plus premium costs like, $1.30 a tank more than middle grade or even low grade.
