A client of mine has a dark grey '84 733i that has pretty low mileage (<100K) and he is thinking of selling it. It is in pretty nice shape as far as I can see. No rust, leather looks great, interior is very nice. His wife says it was his baby but he had a stroke and cant drive anymore.

The only problem I see is that it probably doesn't start after sitting for a couple years, the rubber and hoses looked great but I didnt have the key so I don't know if it will start.

Assuming it does and doesn't need any major work, what would be a fair price to ask? I'd say it is in 8/10 condition.

Thanks!

I had an 84 733i and around 150k the camshaft lobes wore down and needed to be replaced due to soft camshaft material. Also the automatics (assuming it is an automatic) in that year would blow a clutch pack if the car was reved over 1500 rpms while in park or netural, so be careful, they are expensive to replace. Other than that they are a great car. They are valied at NADA between $3300 and $5800 which considering your description I would guess your in the ball park at 5k. The problem is that you have to find someone who is interested in that car and that could be difficult. Good luck and post a photo of the car if you can.
