I'm currently driving an '03 Mercedes E500. This is my 2nd E500, after the first one was bought back by Mercedes. After a recent spate of problems with this one, I'm giving up on Mercedes and moving to BMW. I'm considering either the 7-series ('02 or newer) or the 545 (probably an '04).
I drove a pretty well loaded '02 745 today (silver/gray int., 14,000 miles, comfort package, luxury package, premium sound, nav, cd changer) - but I've been getting misleading info from the dealers, and was hoping that you guys could help:
- Are these cars bluetooth equipped? One dealer told me yes, another told me no
- Size-wise, they don't seem that much bugger than the 5-series (I was surprised by this), and also not as tight. Is there a sports package that will give me better performance?
- I've seen some references to an 'upgraded wide screen' for the navigation -- what is this?
- Are these cars equipped with auxiliary input ports into the sound system (for hooking up, say, an ipod or satellite receiver)?
- Dealer was asking $49K for the car described above - any reactions?
- Anything else I should look for/ask about on the car?
- Does anyone have any experience buying cars via EBAYMOTORS ?
- Anyone want to buy a well-loaded '03 Mercedes E500?
