I Can't Open My Glove Compartment!

Can someone please help? I have a 98 740IL and for some reason I cannot open my glove compartment. I had this problem in the past but eventually I was able to get it unlocked. I haven't been able to open it in a couple of months. I don't want to ruin anything but I need to get in. Is there something I'm missing. I could not find help in the owner's manual. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Andre. This also happened to our Z8. It finally got to the point, that it too would no longer open. DO NOT force it. You will make it worse. The dealer had to open it, and then replace the locking mechanism. It seems that this just breaks on it's own. Our Z8 was less than 6 months old, and the glove box had maybe been used 2x. Sorry, but gotta go to the BMW Doctor Good Luck!
