05 a new s class is due out. if u're going for the security package i would assume u have a good reason to, and then in that case i'd say don't worry about looks too much =]

there should be a number of specialized companies that can add armor to your current car as well. i remeber reading an article about it - i'll try to find that for u

the 7 will only be updated a little to make it (hopefuly) less ugly

i actually care about looks alot. I dont want to spend all that money on a armord vehicle, and then next year, a new model is out, and mine looks old.. And i really like the current 2004 7, but if they re-design it, i was the re-designed one so my model will look newer for a longer time

oh and do you know how much more weight the security package adds on to the total weight of the car? Will this make it noticeably slower?

i heard 7 is getting a face lift, rather early in the typical 8 year cycle. iirc, it looked more new 5er esq. maybe for 05, or 06?? saw it in one of the car mags, maybe roundel? can't remember.

but if you like the way new 7er looks, why would the design change bother you?

Buy the Mercedes!! I bought the 745i because I was concerned the S430 is going to be redone soon. My 745i has had so many problems it is unbelievable and BMW customer service at my dealer and at BMW NA is a complete joke as they do not care. I just bought an S430 so now I have a great Mercedes and a nearly worthless BMW until BMW buys it back (which they are telling me they will not do.)
