need cellular help!

I have a 2002 745i, Does anyone know if there is any other phone besides the cpt8000 timeport-that can upload and work in the vehicle- My problem- I had the handset that came with my preowned car- the phone had a problem and was replaced under warranty by BMW- The replacement phone in the car, technically works but because verizon will no longer activate phones that are non 911 compliant or without a GPS chip they refuse to activate since its federal law- Now the fustrating part abt this- I already have a line but i cannot use it because of this problem-
Verizon is willing to upgrade me for free but I do not believe there is any other phone that will work with this complicated car!
I would hate not to be able to use this cool feature!!!

Verizon activated a CPT8000 for me in July. I had to add a line and their deal included a free phone. They activated the free phone and then swapped ESNs, using the ESN from my CPT8000 to replace the free phone's ESN. But I have yet to read of anyone being able to do that since July. I'm wondering if some regulation milestone passed at the end of July.

You might try a third-party Verizon dealer and see if they'll swap ESNs from another phone. If not, there's always Bluetooth. Pricey, but effective.
