That's one of my dream cars. Screw the SLR, I'd much rather have the SL65 and an Aston Martin DB9!

I love BMW's .......but the old adage about MB being an "old" persons car is slowly but SURELY going away. I am thinkin that BMW better get on the ball and come out with a new better looking line than the 6er.

i like BMW's too, i dont like MB, and after going to one of their dealerships and the service over their i dont like MB, if i go to a different area and go to a better dealership maybe i'll take a look, but for now BMW4LIFE

That's cuz of Fletcher Jones. I hate them too, even the sales dept. Try Long Beach BMW or House of Imports.

I think magazines will test it in the 3.3 second range. They got the SL600 to 3.6 already.

"Only old people can afford the things that only young people can enjoy"

I don't have a problem with old guys driving it, it just pisses me off when the wives get the sport model and then drive it badly or slowly. For example, my nieghbor. His wife takes the SL55 the great majority of the time. Uses it to take her kid places, etc. We all have steep driveways, and every time she comes home, she drives too fast and smacks into the drive. I shudder to think of what her front bumper must look like. The husband takes good care of the cars he drives. I see him hand wash them all the time. What a waste of a beautiful SL55.

There are quite a few S55s, CL55s, SL55s, etc running around my city. Almost all of them are driven by old ladies.

I'm surprised at how many people are actually BUYING the SL55. $120K base price and it's a pure pleasure car....I'm surprised at how many of them I am seeing on the road (just saw one or two today).

Dinan, the SL is supposed to be heavy. Mercedes builds traditionally heavy cars and the SL is a HUGE roadster and it's built like a tank (everything is just BIG with that car).

Keep in mind that with Mercedes (AMG or not), it's luxury first, performance second. That's why it's only an automatic transmission, that's why it's heavy. The US's strictness on speeding is why you'll never see most people whipping any car. The second you start to get aggressive, there's always a cop around the corner to pull you over, it's so ****ing gay.
