It is inside the front ground effect on the drives side, kind of below the drives side headlight.. Mine did the same thing but it took me some time to put 2 and 2 together.. I hit a piece of a retread in the interstate and then noticed later my temp was registering 122 degrees.. The I drive through some rain and it read - 39 degrees and the a/c wouldn't work.. What I found was the retread I hit jarred the wire loose and it was dragging the ground when it was dry, it registered 122+ when it was wet, it read - 39 apparently there is something in the system that tells the a/c compressor to not come on if it the outside temp is very cold.. I replaced the sensor and everything is fine.. Short story long- If I had to bet, I would say your sensor is bad...
