I have now replaced my water pump and fan clutch--still overheats with the lower pass side hose staying cold and short large hose and small one from reservoir getting very hot--any ideas?

I took the thermostat out and still had prob---even with air in system, shouldn't there be flow?
If there's air around the cylinder head then the car will still overheat. This can be a substantial amount. When i changed my 'stat it took a good half an hour for all the air to escape. How long did you let the car run for with air in the system? What you need to do is take off the rad. cap and have the engine idling until bubbles cease appearing at the top of the expansion tank... If it still overheats when all the air has been bled from the system then you may have a problem...
