Quick question re: jumpstarting my BMW. Help!!

Can anyone help me with jumpstarting my 1998 BMW 740? I bought the car preowned, and did not receive an owner's manual. My issue is this: when I open the hood, I can clearly see the positive battery terminal, but cannot see where to hook up the negative end of the cable. Does anyone know how to handle this? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hook the negative cable to one of the front shock blots that should be silver and larger than the rest. Actually any ground is acceptable. Your battery is in the trunk under the seat. By the way welcome to the board!

Thanks.....I presume from your answer that I hook up the cables to the terminals under the front hood....not to the battery in the back. Correct? By the way, thanks for the welcome message!
