Radio problems- E38

Hi All,

I'm having a serious problem with the radio/cd player in my E38. Sometimes the radio work but the CD player doesnt other times neither works- yet the orange light next to the knob to turn the radio on remains on.

The weird thing is I had to jump start it a couple of times and guess what everything started working fine!. Then about a month later it stopped working. I then changed the battery (because it was weak anyway), & everything worked fine for about 2 months. Recently I left my lights on and I know that must have caused a drain on the battery but now it doesnt turn on again.

So in summary 2 questions:

1. Does anyone know what the problem is here?

2. How do I reset/disconnect/connect the radio to the mains- Im guessing resetting might sort it!

I hae found that in the past a sticking electrical portion of the ignition switch can cause all of your issues. unfortionatly just about the only way too find out if this is your problem is to replace the switch.
