One of my rear woofers is blown which is located in the back window area. Does any body have any specs on the speaker and also specs on the factory amp. I cant even find out who makes the amp or speakers. I know it is made in Germany probably. I was looking into upgrading the entire system BUT getting all new OEM speakers from the dealer will cost a fortune. Can the Receiver be replaced with a Sony or Pioneer system? I would thing some company out there has good upgrade system with more powera amp and better speakers.

I need more tight solid bass in the system
Thanks for any replys

Even if you replaced one speaker with a factory spec, I would be concerned with the other one going out also. I would replace both at the same time with something from Sony or Alpine. Check you local audio store for recommendations.

I plan on replacing all 4 of the rear back window speakers with 6 1/2. I am just trying to find out the specs on the current mid woofers in there now so I can get a close match. Such as the sensitivity level and I assume they are 4 ohms?

Hey, I guess I just wanted to ask what cmibobby ended up doing with his rear deck subwoofers. I know you posted this a long time ago, but what type of speakers did you end up purchasing? I've had a difficult time locating subwoofers that line up with the factory specifications for the car. Thank you.

740 speakers

I own a 1996 740 il .The sound system sucks. It has no bass. Finally,I added a subwoofer box in the trunk with a 1200 watt amp.It sounds great.I kept the other factory speakers.including the pre amp.Just make sure when installing amp and subs, you get the power for the rear speakers before the pre amp not after if you do you will blow the amp.
