Transmission service.

I have a 2001 BMW 740i SPORT with 90 000 miles on it and my mechanic says that I need to service my transmission (flush it, change the oil...) despite the fact that BMW gives it life time service free.
Does anyone have any experience with this issue?

I am a tech at a dealer do not let him change the fluid. The trans will not like the new fluid that is put in it I have seen issue where the trans starts to slip after a flush has been performed and those trans are not cheap about 6,000 for a new plus labor.

I am not a beliver in "lifetime" fluids, and have my transmission serviced every 60k and have had no troubles with any of my automatics.
