Since its humble luxury sport compact beginnings in 1975, the BMW 3-Series has grown in size, power and price significantly with each update. The German luxury compact car has perhaps received more awards over its production span than any other car on earth. The 3 Series is known for its every day drivability without sacrificing anything in the world of high performance and driving excitement.

For 2009, BMW has released a minor update to the excellent E90 3-Series, which drastically changed the face of the BMW 3 Series as a 2006 model. New styling touches common to those on the all-new BMW 7 Series include headlights and a revised rear end, that looks more trim with cleaner lines more suitable to a luxury sports compact car. The interior receives upgrades, as well, most notably an iDrive system that is said to be significantly less-confusing than the hated iDrive system found in BMW cars ever since it was introduced.

The real change comes with the introduction of the BMW 330d model, which will be coming to the United States as well as being one of a number of diesel engines found in European markets. The torquey diesel engine has low emissions and BMW claims gas mileage significantly better than previous 3 Series engines, without sacrificing much in the way of performance. The new 7 Speed Paddle-Shifted DSG transmissions are coming soon, as well.
