Change Catalytic converter

One of my catalytic converters is shot so I am going to replace them both. Is there any real reason why I shouldnt / cant change them both out and put two high performance high flow Universal converters on my 96 740i? Also with that I believe the inlet and outlet of them are 2 1/2 in. Is this correct?

I have no idea what the outlet/inlet sizes are, but there is no reason why you should not change both, in fact it might be recommended.

You shoulod probably measure the inlet and outlet to be safe.

Yeah I did and got 2.5 in. Now does anyone know a cheap website to order good universal catalytic converters? I have seen a few but not sure how good they are or if they will even send FPO. I normaly go through BAVAUTO but they want $500 a pop.
