power to the car, even when no key is in?

this is my first bmw, so i have no clue..
i have a 87' 325

radio is always on and can listen to music anytime even though there is no key in the ignition.. a amber colored light from the time is always lit also.. and a LED light indicating im low on coolant is also always on even though there's no key?

is this normal??

i dont' think they are supposed to be always on.
you can manually turn the radio on even if there is no key in the ignition.
i remember in our 92 econoline van exhibited similar problems. the key pulled out, even if it wasn't fully turned to the off position. (wonder if something similar is happening with your car..) hope others have a better answer.

THAT HAPPENS WHEN IT IS WIRED UP LIVE. ALL BMW's RADIOS SWITCH OF AUTOMATICALY WHEN THE ENGINE SWITCHES OFF. THIS PROBLEM WILL ONLY OCCURE WHEN THE WIRING IS LIVE. CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL GARAGE

yo bmw auto parts, please check your local Caps Lock key and make sure the LED is NOT illuminated! I bet your Caps Lock key LED stays lit even when your PC is off, sheesh....
