Whistling

Me again. When I bought my car last year I was having a problem with the sunroof leaking and spilling water into the cabin. My dealer installed new drain floats and I had to have a new windshield put in(covered by insurance) to clean up the drain channels in the A pillars. Now I don't have any leaks, but I do have this really annoying high pitched whistle from the left front corner of the sunroof at any speed over 75. Not a problem for around town, but who doesn't drive at least 75 on the highway. Its not coming from the gasket area around the roof, but farther forward closer toward the windshield. Does anybody have any experience with stopping this? Thanks.

i have the same problem in my 525... was wondering where that noise came from... although it only sometimes happens, though rarely... when it does happen, it happens at as low as 55mph

the other morning i found water droplets in the same area on the dashboard but in a pattern... looks like the bad part might be at the top of the windshield...

I had a whistle at speeds of 75+ with my 750iL, however mine was coming from the rear. Turns out it was the cellular antenna. I laid if flat against the window, whistle gone!

I found the rubber gasket around the windshield wasn't sitting up over the metal of the roof right in front of the sunroof. I pushed and pulled it until it looked right and gave it a try. No whistle at 90 today so it should be okay. Thanks for the advice.

I've always been disappointed with the wind noise I get from the sunroof and I'm sure a deflector would help, but I don't think I would like the look of it. I just slide the cover closed and its nice and quiet.

Just replace the gasket which is fairly inexpensive<$20 I think and the noise will go away. Another part which routinely needs to be replaced. I need one too. [:(]
