I have a 1990 750 IL. We were in Florida it rained really hard and water got inside. The seats were not really wet just the floor board. It was really wet. I finally got the doors unlocked. However, I can't get the alarm to go off which I believe is why the battery keeps going dead. I has tryed to reprogram itself but I don't think it is getting enough time to because of the battery. One thing I think started all of this is the driver side window was getting jammed on the door lock when you would try to put it down. Someone told me it got wet because the switch in the door mafunctional which allowed the windows to go up and down in the rain until it rain the battery down. Please help. It will turn over it just will not start and can't get the alarm off. etc so many problems.

Thank You

You have a serious electrical gremlin. Maybe your battery needs replacing, how old is it? I doubt that rain got in the door and caused the switch to malfunction, there is some other problem. Try charging your battery and resetting the alarm.

Disconnect the battery completely, charge it while it is not connected to the car. While the battery is out, turn on the 4 way flashers (yes, 4 way emergency flashers) and let it sit for 1/2 hour like that. After the battery is recharged, reconnect and try everything again.

Turning on the 4 way flashers will ensure that no partial voltages remain in the system, stored in an electronic part called a capacitor, common in electronic systems. That partial voltage could be causing the glitch.
